A HUDDERSFIELD law firm has changed its name.

Eaton Smith Marshall Mills becomes Eaton Smith tomorrow.

A stylish new logo has gone up on the wall at the firm's High Street offices to signal the name change.

Partner Deborah Melluish said: "We feel that it is now time for us to move forward in terms of our branding and that a shorter name is more appropriate in the business world of today - as well as being easier to say!"

The company adopted the name Eaton Smith Marshall Mills after the merger of law firms Eaton Smith and Downey and Marshall Mills and Sykes in 1997.

Senior partner Malcolm Tracey said: "The firm has expanded considerably since the merger in terms of size, investment in technology and the depth and quality of services that we provide."

Eaton Smith, which has 12 partners and 75 staff, acts for commercial and private clients in the UK and overseas.
