EASTER egg decoration was part of an event at Huddersfield University to promote Fairtrade products.

People over 50 from across the Kirklees area were invited to the campus so they could learn about the principles of Fairtrade.

They tucked into a lunch of chicken supreme with white wine and mushroom sauce made with Fairtrade ingredients.

The guests also decorated Easter eggs and played Wii Fit computer games.

The university’s environment and sustainability coordinator Emily Rye said the aromatherapy hand massage workshop was very popular.

She said: “They were all queuing up to have a hand massage, it was very popular.”

The event was organised by university staff in conjunction with Kirklees Council as part of a quest to gain Fairtrade status for Huddersfield.
