A SOLICITOR has appeared in court accused of fraud.
Amjad Hasan, 35, of Mountjoy Road, Edgerton, is accused of making a false representation by obtaining motor insurance for himself and his brother Zahid Hasan, of the same address.
The offence is said to have been committed on May 8, 2012.
His legal representative, Khaleeq Zaman, said: “It’s a denied matter. He is a solicitor who stands to lose his career.”
Zahid Hasan, 34, who appeared next to his brother in the dock, is charged with committing fraud by failing to provide details of previous criminal convictions in order to make a gain.
The date of the alleged offence is said to be June 24, 2009.
Deputy District Judge Tim Spruce adjourned the case until July 18 and granted both defendants unconditional bail.
