A FORMER troubled teen who appeared on hit TV show Educating Yorkshire has triumphed in her beauty college course ahead of giving birth to a gorgeous baby girl.

The one-time gobby teen Georgia Mortimer was last seen on the Channel 4 show which followed students lives at Thornhill Community Academy - under Jonny Mitchell’s headership- in the fly-on-the-wall documentary.

But it was perhaps for all the wrong reasons that the peroxide blonde stood out with her outrageous behaviour laid bare - getting into fights and ‘kicking off’.

Her bad behaviour culminated in the ultimate sanction - being banned from the school year 11 leavers’ prom.

She did however notch up 13 GCSE’s, nine of them A*-C, and enrolled to study hair and make-up at Kirklees College’s Dewsbury centre.

Despite falling pregnant she has taken her studying in her stride and passed the course ahead of schedule.

Georgia gave birth to 8lb 3oz daughter Mya Rose on March 18, but was still the first in her group to complete the course, gaining her qualification ahead of schedule.

Now she is looking forward to returning to college in the next academic year to work towards her Level 2 qualification.

College Curriculum Team Leader Sharon Archer said: “We are all so very proud of Georgia. She will be progressing to level 2 in September and with the same determination and support I am sure she will flourish and be just as successful.”

Georgia is now looking forward to returning to college in the next academic year to work towards her Level 2 qualification.

Meanwhile, the Channel 4 programme which also featured other characters such as latte-loving 12-year-old Ryan Ward and has already triumphed at the National Television Awards, the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards and the Royal Television Society Awards has been nominated for another award.

The documentary series, has been shortlisted in the factual series category by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
