HUDDERSFIELD Technical College is helping adults to improve their language skills by running English classes on their doorstep.
The college has been promoting a free beginners' English course at Thornton Lodge Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
A six-week introduction to English course was recently put on, aimed specifically at men.
Centre manager Ibrar Hussain said: "We highlighted a need to help men who had recently arrived in England or who wished to return to learning after a long spell.
"The centre aims to bring learners and tutors together in a friendly, community setting."
The course was designed to build confidence, primarily in speaking and listening.
The group is now on an English for Speakers of Other Languages course.
