YOUNGSTERS have been enjoying train rides with a difference - the Easter Eggspress.

The special trains are being operated by the Kirklees Light Railway.

On the first journeys - on Friday - children travelled on the 15in gauge track from Clayton West to Shelley.

They travelled the full length of the line behind a steam locomotive. On the return journey they stopped at Blacker Woods for an Easter egg hunt.

Each child received a cream egg, in return for finding a token in the hunt.

Their train ticket automatically entered them into a raffle for a big Easter egg.

The Easter Eggspress continued on Saturday and yesterday. It is also in operation today and tomorrow, leaving on the hour - and half past the hour when busy.
