A CAT has battled against all the odds to start a new life with caring owners.

Two-year-old Snowy was found abandoned in Salendine Nook by Bernard and Bernice Hoyle.

They took him to the Huddersfield PDSA clinic in Greenhead Road because he had an old leg injury.

But while he was under the anaesthetic, Snowy had trouble breathing and his condition rapidly got worse.

Veterinary staff feared he would die, but the determined moggy and skilled treatment saved the day. Staff repaired his torn diaphragm, which had probably been caused in a road accident.

PDSA veterinary nurse Kim Walton said Snowy's injuries could have proved fatal.

"He has now made a full recovery and is no longer in danger. He is enjoying a new lease of life with extremely caring owners," she added.
