Police are trying to trace a driver who stopped to help an elderly fall victim who was later found dead.

The man, aged in his 70s, suffered injuries after falling in the road in the Fixby area on Tuesday (Feb 2).

The incident happened at about 5.30pm on Netheroyd Hill Road or Lightridge Road.

The elderly man was sadly found dead at his home the following day.

The driver who came to his aid is described as white, of athletic build with a bald head.

He is possibly aged in his mid-30s.

The man was driving a white car and was casually, but smartly dressed.

Det Con Shaun Topham, of Kirklees CID, said: “It is possible this man has died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the fall.

“But we would like to speak to the driver to see if he has any more information.”
