A FOREIGN couple asked an elderly woman for help – then burgled her house.
The pair followed the woman, who is in her 80s, back to her house on Kirk Lea Crescent in Lindley after she had got off a bus from Huddersfield town centre on Good Friday.
They asked her for directions, then asked if they could use her telephone.
She allowed them into the house and the man asked to use her toilet.
The couple then asked to look at a phone book and the woman followed the victim into her kitchen.
They then left the house and the woman realised her wallet had been taken.
The couple, both in their mid-30s, were European and spoke with foreign accents. They both had tanned complexions.
The man was about 6ft tall, of medium build, with short, dark hair, and was wearing a dark suit jacket, dark trousers and a light T-shirt.
The woman was about 5ft 6ins tall, chubby, with very thick, dark, shoulder length hair and was wearing a small, dark jacket, an ankle-length skirt with a cream flower pattern and a big, black handbag.
