A WOMAN from Brighouse has hit the big time in New York.

Lucy Titterington, an acquisition executive for a TV production company in the heart of Manhattan, has made it into list of the 100 most eligible women in the Big Apple.

Lucy has been in New York for only three months, but already she is rated amongst the city's smartest single ladies - including Sex and the City's Kim Cattrall and supermodel Linda Evangelista.

She features among a line-up of A-list celebrities, actresses, models, party girls and business women described by the Gotham lifestyle magazine as "dynamic, sexy and utterly eligible".

Lucy said: "I'm just an average girl from Yorkshire and to see myself next to Uma Thurman and Kristin Davies just felt a bit ridiculous."

The big-hitting career girl is living a life which is a far cry from her humble roots.

The 24-year-old started out doing work experience on her local paper when she lived with her mum and dad Ian and Noreen in Brighouse.

But less than a year later, the smooth talker landed her present job with a TV company.

She has now rocketed to a high flying superstar lifestyle, rubbing shoulders with the likes of the `Sex and the City' girls and heiress Ivana Trump.

The young media worker spent two years travelling the world after finishing her degree at Lincolnshire and Humberside University.

Now she is fulfilling her lifelong dream of working in the Big Apple.

She says she is thrilled to have made it on the NYC hit list.

"Since I have been in America I have quickly learnt that the dry English humour doesn't always go down well with the Americans so it's been quite hard," she said.

"When I found out I was on the list I was so surprised. I always wanted to have a Sex and the City lifestyle so to find myself on the list next to them was fantastic.

"I want to have as much as possible and if I find my own Mr Big along the way I won't be complaining."

She go her first taste of the high life after leaving Humberside University in 2001 and jetting off with her pal Liz Williams.

The pair travelled to Thailand, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand before Lucy packed her bags and headed to the States.

"For as long as I can remember I have wanted to live and work in America, to be more than a tourist and to be immersed right into the every day fast-paced culture," she said.

The media darling soon found herself caught up in a world of glitz, glamour and showbiz parties rubbing shoulders with the high and mighty of New York.

Through her TV job she attended a host of media events meeting the stars.

And Lucy hopes appearing on the list will help her find her own Mr Right.

"At the moment I'm single and even went to a speed dating evening which was a bit of a disaster," she said.

"But I'm hoping that now I'm on the list I'll have a lot of eligible young men running after me."
