A 38-year-old man has been jailed for 10 months after police acting on a tip-off found hundreds of child porn images and films on his computer.

Bradford Crown Court heard how officers went to Ian Nash’s home in Dewsbury Road, Elland, back in October last year after receiving information that he was using the internet to download images of children.

Prosecutor Paul Nicholson said Nash’s computer was seized and when it was examined more than 300 child porn images and 23 movies were discovered on it.

Nash pleaded guilty to possessing the indecent images at a previous hearing before Calderdale magistrates and today/yesterday it emerged that in 2009 he had been convicted of sexual offences against young boys.

Judge Jonathan Rose sentenced Nash to 10 months in prison for the latest offences and told him he would also have to register as a sex offender with the police for the next 10 years.
