A MAN has been arrested after a break-in at an Elland school.

He was apprehended by police investigating a burglary at the Brooksbank School in Elland.

The man and a second male were held after a further raid on a shed, also in Elland.

Police in the town said some of the school’s laptops were stolen in the raid, which took place earlier this month.

A spokesman for the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The burglary occurred at the beginning of December and the loss of the laptops prevented some of the children at the school from taking advantage of the school’s IT facilities.

“Local police and the staff at the school have been working together to tighten the security around the building.

“The male arrested for this burglary was also arrested with another local man in relation to a shed break in that occurred in Elland.”

Police say enquiries are ongoing and anyone with details is asked to contact Elland police on 101.
