MEMBERS of Elland Silver Band were placed first in the recent Fleetwood Open Brass Band Championships.
Under the Musical Direction of James Shepherd, they competed in the 3rd section and performed Renaissance by Peter Graham, performing off draw No2 in a field of 10 competitors.
They won first place winning prize money of £400, plus the Carol Baker Memorial Trophy.
The band’s bass section received the prize for Best Bass and the Gordon McPhee Memorial trophy.
The Silver and senior band have won nine pieces of silverware of far this year.
