BRIGHOUSE band Embrace missed out on the No 1 slot last night.

The band, fronted by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, had to settle for the No 2 slot in the Top 10 with their new single, Nature's Law.

American singer Ne-Yo shot to number one in the chart with his first UK top ten hit. So Sick climbed from number 18 to reach this week's top spot.

The 22-year-old from Arkansas knocked last week's chart toppers Orson from the coveted position. No Tomorrow slid to third place after just one week at the top. The highest new entry was Nature's Law.

But Embrace can count themselves unlucky; chart compilers were unable to count downloads of the new single, which had been lost in the system.

But there could be some new glory beckoning for the band.

They are the bookies' favourite to be chosen to record England's World Cup song.

Bookmakers Paddy Power have suspended betting on them after their odds fell from 40/1 to 5/1.
