FANS of Scottish country dancing came out in full force.

About 60 people turned up at Brighouse Scottish Dance Club’s annual ball and celebrated its 52nd anniversary.

The event was held at Waring Green Community Centre.

Revellers enjoyed a night of fun Scottish dancing, with the band, the Alan Ross Trio, coming all the way from Falkirk to provide the entertainment.

Club secretary George Watson, the organiser of the event, said: “I’ve been involved in this club for over 40 years and each year everyone always has a great time.

“Although it is very much a local event everyone is welcome.

“We have even had people travel all the way from Manchester and Rochdale to enjoy the evening with us.”

The next big thing to look forward to for the club will be the Christmas Dance in December.

The Robert Whitehead Band will be coming all the way from Morpeth in Northumberland for the event.
