SLAITHWAITE Community Association has one wish - to keep users of the village's community centre warm and dry.
So, the association has applied for £4,000 of the Examiner Community Chest cash to buy new uPVC windows for the building on Bank Gate.
The centre has been running since 1985. It is home to a mother and toddler group, an after-school club, holiday club, youth club, Guides, Scouts and the Slubbing Billy's clog dancing group.
But the old wood-framed windows are failing, making the building damp and draughty.
The community association has been raising cash to replace some of the large windows, spending £5,000 last year on a room used by mothers and toddlers.
But the high cost means progress is slow.
