CROSSROADS Care is Britain’s leading provider of support for carers and the people they care for.

With a national network of charities, the local branch is based at Trafalgar Mills in Leeds Road, Huddersfield.

Crossroads Care in Mid-Yorkshire covers Kirklees and Calderdale and has more than 100 trained support workers providing flexible services for people of all ages.

There are some six million people in Britain who care for others. Many of them reach a turning point – a ‘crossroads’ – where they feel they need help.

That is when Crossroads Care, a not-for-profit charity, steps in to help.

Crossroads has a Children’s Day Centre at Oxfield Court in Dalton, which is open on Saturdays and looks after young people from 0-16 years.

The charity has entered the Examiner’s Wish campaign and hopes readers will support its work in providing care for those who need it most.

Carer and volunteer fundraiser Mary Rogers said the charity only received limited funding from local authorities and relied on fundraising and donations.

“Support from the Examiner’s Wish campaign would be vital to our organisation,” she said.

“The support would help us make a difference to the lives of carers and the people they support,” added Mrs Rogers, a carer for her daughter Elizabeth, 32, who has complex epilepsy and a form of dementia.
