Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman is to again meet parents concerned over school plans in Almondbury.

And this time, he has drafted in an education expert to try to answer some of the questions.

Former head teacher and education consultant Roland Meredith will join Mr Sheerman at the public meeting planned for tomorrow.

Many families in the village are concerned at Kirklees Council proposals to create a “super school” on the Fernside campus, linking the High School with Almondbury Junior School and Greenside Infants.

Mr Sheerman said: “We had a lot of interest at the last meeting we held and I promised to try to answer questions.

“Roland Meredith is an expert in this field and I hope he will be able to answer most of the questions from parents.”

The meeting is at Almondbury Methodist Church on Saturday from 10am-11.30am.
