SMOKERS will get extra help to quit on No Smoking Day.

The Huddersfield Smoking Advice Service will run a drop-in session 10am-noon at the Princess Royal Health Centre on Greenhead Road on March 8.

Smokers will receive a free No Smoking Day pack and be given expert advice on quitting from the service's advisers.

They can also have a check to reveal the level of carbon monoxide in their body.

A record 2m smokers across Britain are preparing to quit on No Smoking Day.

Lorraine Bradbury, manager of the service, said "A quarter of adults in Huddersfield smoke and research has shown that two thirds of them would like to stop,.

"No Smoking Day provides an excellent opportunity for them to do that.

"By using the support available, you can significantly increase your chance of success."
