VOLUNTEERS are wanted to keep an eye on the work of Kirklees Council.

District residents have until November 2 to apply to be on the council’s overview and scrutiny panels.

Members of the public sit with councillors on the panels, which act as watchdogs for decisions made by the authority.

They also examine the work of other public bodies, such as health organisations.

There are six permanent panels: Corporate affairs Safer, stronger communities Regeneration

Adults and health communities

Health inequalities

Children and young people.

Members also serve on ad-hoc panels to look at specific issues.
