The weather is set to stay cold for the next few days with sparkling sunshine and clear skies says Examiner weatherman Paul Stevens.

He said: “Today is just a normal winter’s day, in other words a very cold day.

“It will be minus 1°C with a very cold wind developing.

“As we head towards the afternoon and teatime we might just pick up the odd snow flurry from the north west.

“And it will be another very cold night with temperatures of minus 3/4C over the weekend.

“It will still be fairly dry with high pressure settling down.”

As for next week he said the American, British and European models were “all over the place” but his prediction was that it would be cold through most of next week.
