A MAN has had his face badly slashed in an attack outside a Huddersfield nightclub.

The 32-year-old victim, from Golcar, was attacked during the early hours of Saturday morning outside the Ethos and Visage complex on St Thomas's Road, Folly Hall.

He had been on a night out at the club complex before the incident at 2.25am.

The man was standing near the exit of the club, talking to a dark-haired woman, when he was attacked by an Asian male.

The attacker hit his victim in the face with a broken bottle, leaving a deep two-inch cut on his left cheek.

The assailant ran off towards Chapel Hill and the victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police say that so far they have found no motive for the attack.

The attacker is described as aged about 26 and is slim with short spiky black hair.

He wore a black shirt with white flecks on it and dark trousers.

Det Con Russ Conlon, of Huddersfield CID, said police are anxious to speak to anyone who witnessed the crime.

He said: "We would particularly like to talk to the female who was with the complainant at the time or anybody else that saw the incident or can assist in identifying the suspect."
