A YOUNG leukaemia sufferer will be given an X-factor boost this weekend.

Clare Healy, 20, from Fenay Bridge, will travel to the London-based TV song contest for the third time tomorrow.

The former All Saints High pupil will once again hope to meet Sharon Osbourne – one of the judges on the primetime show.

Her mum Pamela said: “Clare feels that Sharon has been an inspiration as she has survived colon cancer and when she met Sharon she told Clare to keep fighting and stay strong.

“We met her last year and she’s had a picture taken with her! I think it keeps her happy.”

Clare, who was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia back in August 2004, is still searching for a bone marrow match.

Despite feeling tired, Pamela said her daughter was really looking forward to the trip.

And she says Clare hopes to meet fellow judge Dannii Minogue too.

Clare, Pamela and husband Tom will stay in a hotel in Hyde Park then enjoy some Christmas shopping on Sunday.
