FAIR-GOERS have a special treat in store for the Bank Holiday weekend with a new venue for the popular event.

Stewart Robinson, who organises the Huddersfield Christmas fair, opens for the first time alongside the A635 at the Old Post Office pub, near to junction 38 of the M1, at Haigh, near West Bretton.

A large selection of family and teenage rides are expected to thrill the crowds, including dodgems, a new look twister, Hard Rock swing and Terminator 3 ride, which simulates a high speed bob sleigh ride.

A waltzer, family roller coaster, fun house and small children's rides are also expected to thrill younger visitors.

The fair opens on Friday at 5pm and then daily from 1pm until late over the weekend and Bank Holiday Monday.
