POLICE in Wakefield are warning youngsters not to carry fake firearms or make false firearms reports.
The warning follows a bogus report made by a 17-year-old youth in the town, who claimed he witnessed an on-going armed robbery.
A police firearms team was sent to the incident which turned out to be false.
The teenager was later issued with a fixed penalty notice.
A police spokesman said such reports wasted "valuable" police time and could put lives at risk.
