NINETY year old Dora Ainley marked her birthday with five generations of her family.

The Mirfield pensioner was surrounded by her family as she celebrated her birthday on Saturday.

Her daughter Maureen Bull, granddaughter Lynn Carrington, great-granddaughter Lucy and great-great grandsons Aaron, six, Leo, five, and two-year-old Joseph all joined in the fun.

The 90-year-old said it was “smashing” to be part of a five generation family.

Mrs Ainley’s other daughter Janet Chadwick said: “I don’t think she can believe she’s made it to 90 and is part of a five generation family.

“She certainly doesn’t look 90, she’s so much more youthful.

“I think maybe having so many young children in the family helps.

“She dotes on all her family, especially the younger ones.”

Mrs Ainley lived in Dalton as a youngster but moved to Mirfield to be nearer to her family.

She was in the services as a young woman then brought up her children.

She celebrated her 90th birthday with a party at the Kirkheaton Conservative Club.
