A HUDDERSFIELD woman who believes her dog was stolen is appealing for information about its disappearance.
Maryellen Mayo, of Norman Road, Birkby, has not seen one-year-old mongrel Buster since 1.30pm on Sunday.
Her six-year-old daughter, Elaine, who the dog belongs to, was playing with Buster and a friend in Norman Park, yards from the family home.
The girl told her mother a group of teenage boys approached her and said they were taking the dog away. They left with the animal and ran off towards Fartown.
Mrs Mayo said: "My daughter and her friend walked after them, but got afraid they were too far from home. So they came back and told me.
"We have checked all the kennels around here and no-one has found him."
Mrs Mayo has also reported Buster's disappearance to the Kirklees Council dog warden.
However, she has not yet reported the matter to the police.
She said: "I did not know what to do really. They were long gone by the time we found out.
"We can't understand it, because he is not worth a penny, except to us."
Anyone with information about Buster can phone Mrs Mayo on 01484 328093.
