THE Friends of Grimescar Valley are planning a big Easter event.
The group, which was formed in the wake of threats to develop the area, is inviting families to their Easter Eggs-travaganza tomorrow, from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Birchencliffe Cricket Club, Halifax Road.
There will be an Easter egg hunt for children, an art competition, a cake baking contest and the launch of a Springwatch photo and video competition.
Fundraising events will also take place to raise cash to help the environment of the area.
“The valley is a wonderful natural environment which local people have enjoyed for generations”, said William Bradshaw. “We want to harness the creativity of local people who can capture this natural beauty with a camera.”
