RUSSIAN orphans with special needs can look forward to a week of fun activities thanks to kind Huddersfield people.

The Love Russia Charity is staging three Summer camps, headed by Huddersfield policeman Simon Hall and his wife Ann, who are setting out on a third Summer camp on August 5.

Once there the team will work with the children in activities such as craft workshops, producing decorations for the orphanage.

Simon who is leading one of the camps in the Russian town of Yerlatma said: "We're a Christian charity, and we sometimes get the chance to introduce children to the Bible who have never even seen one before, although we don't force religion on anybody."

"My eldest daughter Chloe, 13 on the day we leave, will accompany my wife and I as well as some students and some adults from Oakes Baptist Church."

A cake stall to raise funds will be held tomorrow at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
