MORE than 60 people took part in a charity Kettlethon in Clayton West.

Many were members of the local Aspire kettlebell fitness class, which uses kettlebell weights in exercises. They did a class, a 3.2-mile run and another class.

The event also attracted dozens more to enjoy a range of activities including face-painting, lucky dips and a bouncy castle. Proceeds from the event are to be divided between two local charities, one supporting the British Heart Foundation and one backed by firefighter Gareth Lockwood, who is doing the Great North Run and cycling to and from Newcastle. More money will be donated to Kayes First & Nursery School.
