A NEW group set up by the parents of disabled children is to look at means-tested grants for home improvements.
The Kirklees Parent And Carer Forum has organised two speakers for its next meeting.
One will tell parents about how to apply for grants for important home adaptations, such as downstairs toilets.
The other will talk about leisure facilities available to disabled children and their families.
The meeting will be at Mirfield Community Centre on Water Royd Lane from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Monday, January 26.
People are welcome to just turn up on the night.
The forum has been set up by the parents of disabled children to give support and information to other parents in similar situations.
Management committee member Kate Seabridge said: "The forum is an independent group which also liaises with organisations which provide services for disabled children, such as the NHS and Kirklees Council's social services and education departments."
