THE parents of a former Huddersfield woman who was stabbed to death have spoken of their devastation.

The body of Louisa Brannan, 35, was found in a flat in Sutton, Greater London, on March 14.

She had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Now her family have spoken out for the first time.

In a statement, they said: “The death of our lovely daughter Louisa has come as a terrible shock.

“We are all devastated and we will miss her terribly.”

They also revealed their other daughter, Kayleigh Brannan, was terminally ill.

Mother-of-three Louisa Brannan lived on Water Street in Springwood until she was jailed for robbery in 2009.

She had previously lived in Bradley Mills.

Louisa Brannan had battled with heroin addiction.

But a friend, who did not want to be named, said she had been clean for more than two years.

The friend said: “She was very remorseful and sorry for her crime.

“Her children love her and are so proud of her, so are we.

“She was off drugs and doing so well.”

Reece Ludlow, 18, has been charged with Louisa Brannan’s murder.

After appearing via video link at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court, he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on June 27.
