STUDENTS at Fartown High School put their leadership skills to good use when they studied a special course.
Eleven students attended a sports leadership course run by Glenn Swindell, community recreation officer with Kirklees Council’s Young People’s Service.
They studied for two hours each week in their own time and also took part in voluntary coaching in local community schools.
Several students who have achieved the award are now considering careers in sports coaching and have also been helping members of the PE department in lessons with younger students.
