A MAN has appeared in court facing a string of charges including attempted burglary.

Colin Dennis, of Alder Street in Fartown, was before Kirklees magistrates.

He is alleged to have tried to enter a property on the same street where he lives.

The owner was at home when he allegedly saw a figure in his garden on January 23.

Dennis, 47, also faces charges of possession of cannabis on January 23 and 24.

He is also accused of thefts from three vehicles between December 11 and January 20.

The items allegedly stolen by Dennis include nappies, a wallet with a driving licence and a sat nav.

Finally, between January 19 and 24, he is alleged to have dishonestly received a cashpoint card which was stolen.

Dennis gave no indication as to what his plea to the charges will be.

He will next appear at the Huddersfield court on April 2, when his case will be committed to crown court.

His bail conditions are that he resides in a caravan near Blacker Road in Birkby.

He was also ordered to comply with a curfew between 11pm and 6am and report to police when required.
