A MAN found dead in a Yorkshire river was from Huddersfield.

Jagrag ‘Raj’ Singh was brought up in Fartown but had been living in York with his wife and family.

His body was found in the River Aire in the centre of Leeds on September 23.

Police mounted a major inquiry after the dawn find at Regents Quay but later ruled out foul play.

An inquest has yet to be held on 37-year-old Mr Singh, was known to his friends and family as Raj.

Mr Singh’s wife Barbara today paid tribute to him in a statement.

She said: “Raj was one in a million, everyone says he lit a room up when he walked in.

“He lived life to the full, and was dedicated to his family and friends.”

Mr Singh had worked as a salesman, first for the Yorkshire Post and later Neopost and then FP Mailing Systems.

He went on to set up his own company with former colleagues called Direct Water Coolers Ltd.

Mr Singh also leaves two children, Georgia, aged 17, and Jakob, 10.
