A NEW appeal has been made by the organisers of an animal rescue centre.

It cost £15,000 to provide feed for the 20 horses through the winter at the Albert Horse Sanctuary near Cawthorne.

And although the centre has charity shops in Holmfirth and Denby Dale, it is in need of funds.

Albert Hepworth, one of the founders, said: “It was a huge bill and on top of that we have to find money to pay vet bills.

“People have been very generous to us over the years. I know it is hard but I would ask people to help, either by donating money or by giving us haylage, hay or straw.”
