She’s hardly the quickest but Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat has finally completed her 5k challenge yesterday.

Staff attached a GPS tracker to the Senior Pest Controller’s collar to track her paw-steps.

And despite possessing a penchant for regular catnaps, the world’s favourite moggie, whose Facebook page has 80,000 fans from around the world, has raised thousands of pounds for the charity which provides Lego sets to children in hospices

More than £2,600 was banked as long ago as August 12.

This afternoon Felix posted the following on her Facebook page: “I am delighted to announce I have completed the 5K for my Fairy Bricks Challenge, (in aid of sick children).

“So proud of all my friends who have donated to such a great cause – the sponsorship link is still active if anyone wants to make a donation https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/felixcat

“It’s time for me to get back in the groove diet wise and also to keep up my exercise regime!”

One of the first to congratulate her was Elaine Stead who wrote: “After having a tooth extracted and mending my shed...

“That has made my day Oh Floof monster!!! Well done to you and your colleagues at Huddersfield station. Xx”

And Graham Wykes added: “Felix, very many congratulations. Never doubted for a minute that you would succeed. Time to put your paws up and have a cool drink.”
