FEMALE refugees are displaying their artwork in Huddersfield town centre.

The Les Femmes project is exhibiting work at the Media Centre.

The display by 120 female refugees includes five pieces of textile work and eight photographic pieces.

Les Femmes arts facilitator Marie Allainguillaume said: “The project united women from diverse cultures, aiming to limit social exclusion.

“As it progressed, we realised that this sort of project could eliminate cultural misunderstandings, despite the challenges presented by the mix of languages spoken.”

The exhibition was launched last Friday and will run until May 27.
