A spectacular fireworks display rounded off a family fun-filled day at the Festival of Light.

A quick-paced Riverdance played brilliantly by Hade Edge Band was the finale to the family section of the festival, ahead of DJ Yoda taking over the Square.

The popular brass band entertained a packed St George's Square with everything from a 70s disco style rendition of the Star Wars theme tune to the Dambusters, which saw young children fling their arms out wide to become planes, at the encouragement of the parents and grandparents.

Allan Higginbotham said: "Brilliant tune from a brilliant band." He encouraged grandson Charlie, aged five, to be a plane during the tune, which encouraged a few other children to join in.
