A NEW guide for the Peak District's first Walking Festival is out now - with a choice of 150 routes.
The springtime Walking Festival, from April 16 to May 2, will be offering choices of up to six walks a day throughout the Peak District.
Booking is essential, though most of the walks are free.
The programme gives full details of every event, how to book and what to bring along.
The area covers Derbyshire, the Staffordshire moorlands, and parts of Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire, including Meltham and many parts of the Holme Valley.
The Walking Festival is organised by Visit Peak District, the Peak District National Park Authority and rural councils' tourism partnership.
The guide is available at Tourist Information Centres throughout the Peak District, by logging on to www.visitpeakdistrict. com, or by ringing the visitor information line on 0870 444 7275.
