HUDDERSFIELD will again be hosting a Christmas and New Year funfair, providing hours of fun for children and adults.

From Boxing Day, St George's Square will be filled with rides and amusements every day until Saturday, January 3.

Youngsters are pictured enjoying one of the rides at the funfair last Christmas.

Stewart Robinson, owner of Stewart Robinson and Sons family amusements, which runs the fair, said it was the seventh year it had visited the town.

"We've had a fantastic response so far, and everyone is really looking forward to this year's event. It's going to be bigger and better than ever," he said.

The popular Ghost Train, the Hard Rock ride and a Rocket simulator look set to attract crowds each day.

And more traditional rides including a waltzer, pirate ship and children's merry-go-rounds also look likely to be busy.

The fair opens daily at 11am and closes at 9pm each evening except New Year's Eve, when it closes at 7pm.
