TALKS on the future of Slaithwaite Fire Station are continuing.
Under plans by West Yorkshire Fire Authority, the station could lose its full- time firefighters.
A county-wide phase of changes have been drawn up.
An overall plan, published last year, is part of the Government's modernisation programme of the fire service and replaces traditional emergency cover.
The plans would mean Slaithwaite Fire Station no longer having full- time firefighters and instead, becoming a retained station, with part-time staff.
The changes are expected within the next 12 months.
There have been protests from the Fire Brigades' Union's West Yorkshire branch, which is worried that the changes are budget-led.
The consultation period ends on September 13, with responses due to be considered by the fire authority on October 1.
And on Wednesday, Calderdale councillors will hear about the plans.
