Nearby verges found on fire
FIRE crews put out blazes on two embankments on Saturday night. The first – a 75 square metre fire at land off Scott Vale, Deighton – was extinguished at around 8pm.The second, on a nearby railway embankment off Peace Pit Lane, Leeds Road, was also put out at around 8pm while passing trains were advised to slow down due to smoke drifting across the track.It is not known if the two are linked.
