A COMMERCIAL vehicle retailer is to leave its Brighouse base following a major deal.
Reliance ERF, of Wakefield Road, is investing £1.5m in a new site at Leeds.
The company said it expected to create 20 jobs with the move early next year.
Reliance, part of Harrogate-based van and truck retailer CD Bramall, made the announcement as it disclosed details of a major acquisition.
Reliance has acquired the Wakefield-based MAN truck franchise for Yorkshire.
Peter Collins, Reliance dealer director, said the acquisition was set to boost sales by more than £5m in new accounts.
He added: "We've invested £250,000 in tooling, parts and equipment to take on the MAN franchise and have also extended our workshop hours to offer seven-day servicing and back-up.
"We aim to use this as a springboard to significantly grow the business."
Reliance, one of the oldest names in the truck industry in the region, has held the ERF franchise since the 1960s.
The addition of the MAN business follows the merger of MAN and ERF two years ago.
Most of the staff from the existing MAN franchise in Wakefield will move to Brighouse - increasing total staff at the dealership to 55 - before the move to Leeds next year.
