A rainbow of colour will engulf the countryside at a special charity race this Spring.

Puffs of purple, green, yellow and blue will be thrown high up in the air at the first Colour Run for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

It is due to be held on Farnley Estates on May 21.

Everyone is invited to take part in the unmissable 5km event, which will see families and friends covered in powdered paint while they race against each other.

The charity is the latest to host a colour run event, which have become a big hit around the world. Hundreds took part in a Colour Run for Kirkwood Hospice last October (video above).

The event is part of the Children’s Hospice’s 2016 effort to raise £3.8million to continue caring and providing support for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Lucy Burnett, Events Manager at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice said: “We are really excited to be launching our first ever Colour Run for 2016.

“These events are a fantastic spectacle to be a part of and we can’t wait to see our wonderful runners covered in paint come May.

“The Colour Run offers a fantastic event for the whole family to get involved in.

“Colour Runs are become big events across the UK and we are keen to get as many people involved with our run as possible to raise money for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.”
