FIRST-TIME models – including an MP and a Rugby League player – strutted their stuff in Hepworth to raise money for charity.

More than 30 models took to the catwalk at the Carding Shed’s Charity Evening of Fashion.

Those on stage included former Huddersfield Giants prop Andy Raleigh and Colne Valley Tory MP Jason McCartney.

The sell-out evening had a retro feel in-keeping with the vintage theme of the mill.

Alex Bray, who organised the event with Nicola Kellett, said: “It was a big success and the audience loved it.

“I think we may have found the next top model in Jason McCartney.

“He was a bit nervous at first but after he’d gone down the catwalk the first time he loved it.”

Proceeds will go to the Huddersfield-based Laura Crane Trust, Kirkwood Hospice and Age UK.

Alex added: “There was a great buzz and because it was so successful I’m sure we’ll do it again.”
