THIEVES have a price on their heads after paintings were stolen from Huddersfield Railway Station.

Police yesterday released this image of a suspect in connection with the incident.

And First TransPennine Express yesterday offered a reward of up to £250 for information leading to the prosecution of the two men responsible for stealing the paintings from the station at 5.30am on Sunday.

The pieces by Damian Clark and Trafford Parsons were part of the 40-strong Art Station display.

Station manager Steven Johnston said: “We are really disappointed that these works of art have been taken in such a blatant manner.

“Huddersfield station has been hosting various art exhibitions for the last few months which have been extremely well received. The exhibitions are from local artists and are there for the benefit of the wider Huddersfield community.

“The station is fitted with state-of-the-art CCTV and we hope this will aid the British Transport Police in the arrest and successful prosecution of those involved.

“This was a selfish and anti-social act that has victims. Those victims are the artists themselves and Huddersfield rail passengers who have been enjoying the various installations.”
