The Examiner's Save Huddersfield A&E Battle Bus hits the road on Tuesday.

We're taking to the road to mark the first day of the consultation that will decide the future of hospital services in Huddersfield and Halifax.

Under current plans Huddersfield A&E will be closed and emergency services for our town moved to Halifax.

We want to make a big impact on Tuesday and Wednesday to mark the start of the consultation and make sure Huddersfield's voice is heard — but we need your support.

Save HRI A&E campaigner Karl Deitch, St. George's Square, Huddersfield.

Here's five ways to support the Examiner Battle Bus:

Come and see us!

On Monday we'll be revealing the route for our Battle Bus, with several stops along the way. We'd love for you to come and see us — sign the official petition (if you haven't already!), tell us your views on the A&E proposals and help us spread the word. We'll publish the full route on Monday — come say hello!

Take a Battle Bus selfie

This is the design for our Battle Bus — isn't it striking! We want to create a gallery of Battle Bus selfies — pop down to see us at one of our planned stops (details published on Monday), take a selfie alone or with your friends and family and send it in to us! Email it to @Examiner, or email to Please include the names of everyone pictured in your message!

Follow our Battle Bus liveblog

We'll be following the Battle Bus live on the Examiner website — we'll have a reporter, photographer and our social media editor Lauren Ballinger on board, so we can bring you the latest news, videos, photos and more in our dedicated liveblog. We'll also be explaining what the hospital plans mean, how you can take part in the consultation and sharing your messages of support.

Put the campaign poster in your window

Sign up to our Thunderclap

As part of our 'Battle Bus Battleplan' on Tuesday, we're arranging a Thunderclap — a mass message across social media to direct attention to our Save HRI A&E campaign and remind people that the public consultation has begun! We've had hundreds of people sign up so far — to join them, click the sign up button below:

Keep checking for the latest on the Battle Bus routes and give us a wave if you see us on Tuesday or Wednesday!
