A METHODIST chapel could be turned into flats.
Batley-based Bradbury Investments has applied to Kirklees Council to convert redundant Linthwaite Methodist Chapel into 10 homes.
The chapel is a Grade 2 listed building and dates back to 1867. It was last used in 1993 and services now take place in the Sunday school.
The plans include stripping the interior of the Chapel Hill building and restoring the outside.
A planning spokesman said the building was in a poor state of structural repair. English Heritage is being consulted because the plans include stripping a first-floor wooden gallery.
The plans will be considered by a planning committee within a couple of months.
