KIRKLEES Council is inviting Holme Valley residents to have their say on environmental issues.

The council is holding a meeting on April 27 to tell people about its plans for improving the environment in the Holme Valley South ward.

The council plans to carry out planting schemes and replace litter bins and tackle dog fouling problems.

The initiatives are being carried out in support of the forthcoming Holme Valley in Bloom and Tidy Trader competitions.

The meeting, at the Shepherd's Rest, 116 Woodhead Road, Holmfirth, starts at 7.30pm.
